Silverstone reduces software spend by 20 percent with Centennial Discovery

World-famous racing circuit ensures compliance and reduces cost with Centennial Discovery for software license management

August 14, 2008 – FrontRange Solutions, a leader in business software solutions, today announced racing circuit, Silverstone, has purchased its IT audit solution, Centennial Discovery, to gain control of its software licensing.  By providing visibility of all software assets across the organisation, Centennial Discovery has enabled Silverstone to save 20 per cent of its annual software costs by preventing unnecessary purchases.

As part of its acquisition by the British Racing Drivers Club (BRDC), the track was required to perform a full IT asset audit.  The audit data was also needed to guarantee that the growing IT infrastructure was being used effectively and in line with corporate policies.  Working with SAM experts, Softcat, Silverstone selected Centennial Discovery to help it get a comprehensive overview of its software estate, identify gaps in licensing best practice and ultimately ensure it is fully compliant on its software usage.
